Published layouts

I had these two layouts published in the March-April issue of Swedish magazine Scrapbooking-mm. The fist one is my little girlie, and the journaling is about my thoughts about her future - what's in it for her? Where will her life journey take her, and what will she become when she grows up? Just yesterday, I overheard a conversation between some kids in school, who are about to graduate in a few weeks, about their choices in future educations, and thoughts about carreers. I love listening to them, so undestroyed with their whole life ahead of them. So many opportunities to come and choices to make. At that age I wanted to be an author or a paleontologist, or a marine biologist, and if someone had told me back then that my path would lead me into teaching, I wouldn't have believed them. But life takes unexpected turns every now and then, and today I'm happy about the choices I made. I'm really excited to see what life has in store for my little ones some day.

The other layout is for a Book-of-Me challenge, what I would do if I got fifteen minutes on TV. I would, if I were any good at photographing, which I'm not, talk about the importance of documenting the everyday life in pictures and words, and not forgetting about the small things. It's so easy to save the photographing for special occasions, such as birthdays and holdays and stuff, but what about an ordinary day? Photos of the regular mess in the kitchen after dinner? The laundry hanging to dry? The way to school? You know, those ordinary days that life is made of. Today is such an ordinary day for us, I'm home from work because DD has a temperature. She's on the couch watching Playhouse Disney and we're soon about to go pick up DS from daycare where he's been for a couple of hours. And i'm definitely going to bring my camera today. :-)
I hope you're all having a wonderful day wherever you are and whatever you're up to on this ordinary day.

Why can't I make a square layout anymore?

No, impossible, I just can't... They all have to be one shape or another and with fancy edges and all. Definitely an addiction of mine, and luckily, the CHA-peaks reveal loads of diecut papers even this season, so I guess I'll be able to keep on making shaped layouts for a looong time :-)

So, we've had another round of the stomach bug here, but luckily, I've been able to do some scrapping today. I made this layout from Jenny's sketch at MiMas, in the nick of time, because today it's the deadline of that challenge. I've used wonderful Jenni Bowlin papers from this month's Nook kit, and I couldn't help myself from over-embellish this one too. That's another thing I can't do - less embellishments.
The English translation of the title would be: "You enrich my life", and that's what she does, this little one, in so many ways.

BTW, I have to share a little toot again. I just got two layouts picked up by Swedish mag Scrapbooking-mm for their next issue. How cool is that?

Hopefully, there will be no more stomach bugs, and perhaps a little more regular updates on this sadly neglected blog. I have another layout lying on my desk, almost ready, so hopefully it will be up soon too.

A not so little toot...

I just had to make another post tonight. Check this out:

You see the little book in the down right corner? It's mine... Oh, man, can you believe how cool this is? This book is going to be read by so many people throughout the world, and my little project is on the cover. I'm swooning over here!
