I've been so caught up in all these crazy advent preparations, you know, cleaning windows. preparing calendars for the kids, making sure every candlestick and star that is going up in the windows have functioning lightbulbs and so on. And then, you realize that almost nothing of what you have is what you want to put up this year. And there isn't room for those things you want to put up. So yesterday, I got fed up with the curtains in the kitchen, and took out the sewing machine and made new ones out of a couple of old bedsheets with beautiful laces. I also made a spur-of-the-moment decision to go to IKEA today, to get a couple of new shelves for the hall. I'm in the mood of painting everything white right now, and so far, I've painted as much as I could before I ran out of white paint... So, anyway, I have done some crafting over these last couple of weeks, among other things this advent calendar for Agnes. The small packages contain Polly Pocket stuff, because I foud this really cool package containing one doll and a multitude of clothes and accessories. Perfect for a little girl who is crazy about little dolls with little clothes.
I also made a little Album with our wish lists, from a Maya Road Coaster Album, and lots of Pink Paislee papers. Yes, I have fallen so hard for the colour combination in this collection. I honestly can't get enough if it! Every member of the family has a spread of his or her own in this album. Albin really wants a Lego Mindstorms NXT for Christmas. I have told him that the only way he is going to be sure to get one is to save up for it. But there's no harm in adding it to your wish list too, is there? Agnes wants a computer, and guess what colour she wants... Yeah, pink, what else? Well, she's not getting one this year. As for me... I want a Sodastreamer and a bedroom makeover, complete with new (white) wallpaper and new (white) furniture. I guess I will have to make it myself if it is going to happen. That could keep me busy during the Christmas holidays. And what P wants... well, I haven't photographed his pages, because I don't know what he wishes for and neither does he... as usual :)
There is a virtual crop going on at My Scrapbook Nook this weekend, and I have actually managed to steal myself some scrappy time and I got quite a few of the challenges made. The first one is with Lily Bee papers from the Nook November kit. The challenge was to use the kit, and I really needed a kick in the butt to get started on these papers. They are lovely, yes, but I haven't felt that inspired before. On this one I have used up every little scrap I had left of the Industrial Park papers from Scrap Within Reach. I totally love these papers, and the sweater Albin is wearing on the photo is a perfect match! Here's our cat, Lillan. The papers are spanking new Life Stories from My Mind's Eye, printed on kraft paper and totally gorgeous. I have never been a big MME fan before, but hey, everyone can change their mind, right? Some Pink Paislee... I still have a few tiny scraps left of the papers I bought from this line, but they are really, really tiny. Oh, and I got a great excuse to pull out my favourite October Afternoon papers of all time - the house paper and the cloud paper from the Weathervane collection. The challenge was to make a layout involving some kind of movement, and I hope I succeded by setting some of the clouds loose by mounting them on foam squares, and by doodling little swirls to the Quickutz leaves. What do you think? Can you sense the movement in the layout? Oh, well, off to hang some laundry. You can't scrap all day, can you? I have a couple of more layouts to share, but I will get to that later. Have a nice Sunday!
Here's a very quick post for you today. It has been a very busy week for me, I've been exhausted because of a cold, and I haven't had time or energy to blog about this little shadow box I made last weekend. I made it from of a frame and a cardboard box. I can't get enough of Pink Paislee's Mistletoe & CO. I got all the papers from the collection, and I just pick them out over and over again. They are so pretty! Some details. That's all for now. I hope to show you a few more items tomorrow. There is a Virtual Crop going on at the Nook, and I've been doing a few of the challenges, so I have quite a lot of photos to show :)
I bought this crown a couple of years ago, with the intention of altering it in some way. It never happened, though, not until now, when I got the gorgeous papers from Pink Paislee Mistletoe & CO in the mailbox. So I altered. And all the time I had a three-year-old with big eyes on the other side of the desk, watching every step of the process with huge eyes, demanding over and over again to have this crown in her room when it was done. And of course she can. Inside, I put a miniature winter landscape. This is our house, according to Agnes, and she wants us to move into it as soon as possible... Aren't these papers just beautiful? I want to decorate my entire house in these colours for Christmas! But I guess I'll just have to settle for a few altered objects here and there. Nevertheless, this collection ROCKS.
I've had a busy couple of weeks here. Or, to be honest, I have been absolutely swamped here! So this poor blog has kept slipping further and further down on my priority list. But finally there's time for a post.I made this layout for Scraplagret, using papers from G45 Domestic Godess and MM Vintage findings. They are a perfect match, indeed! Just look at all the gorgeous embellishments from Making Memories. The zip fastener is from a pair of jeans my DD grew out of. Have a really nice weekend all of you!
